Why Sourcebooks EDU?

Our mission is to provide students, parents, and educators with the most innovative programs from the top experts. We’ve tasked ourselves with lifting people’s stress—from skill development to test prep to college admissions and beyond. We aim to be modular, affordable, and expert-based. We’ve failed if we don’t make a real difference for college-bound students and their families.

In recent years, we’ve seen the education space develop a need for both independent experts and innovative, modular, digital-based solutions. You can see it at education conferences and even more when you talk to people one-on-one—there’s a distrust of “packaged” products and a real sense of wanting to know the people behind the products.

Our first acquisition—of the online financial aid resources created by veteran admissions and guidance counselor Frank Palmasani—is a big step toward making a much-needed difference, led by a professional with deep knowledge and genuine passion.

In fact, the idea of adding Managing College Cost to our stable of resources came from talking to the people with their boots on the ground in the guidance offices. We asked them the biggest problem they face in helping students navigate the going-to-college process – overwhelmingly, they said, “money!” That not only means it’s a stress point, but also that they don’t have great sources for solutions.

As new opportunities arise and new media are developed, with Sourcebooks EDU, we aim to provide those much-needed solutions and more.
